CONGRATULATIONS MATTHEW!

We had the pleasure to celebrate my son Matthew's Class of 2009 Graduation yesterday. High school is over and a new chapter in his life begins. The celebration was held at the Queen Elizabeth Hotel in Montreal. 308 graduates and 1500 guests were in attendance. We were very proud to learn that Matthew finished his last year with an overall 80% average. He was honoured with an Award of Distinction.

We were very fortunate, and I am sure it meant so much to Matthew, to have with us my Grandmother - Matthew's Great Grandmother. This lady is amazing. She is 96 years old and wouldn't have missed this day.

I lived with my Grandparents when I was young. They attended my graduation. My Grandmother has attended both of my sons' graduation. This has meant so much to us all. We love you Nanny.

Our Aunt Dorothy also attended and Aunt Grace and Uncle Karol sent Matthew their best wishes as they live out of town. Thank you so much.

These are moments which are so special and will not be forgotten.

Here are pictures of the big day and of the card I made for him.

Lady Bug, Lady Bug....

I am amazed at how quickly some cards come together, while others can take hours. Luckily for me at 10:15 last evening I needed to make a card to take to the office today and this was one of the cards that just came together quickly and beautifully.

Our office is raising money for Leucan. Leucan helps raise money for children with cancer. I was asked if I would like to make a thank you card for a little girl with leukemia who will be coming to the office on Friday. She will be watching 16 of our employees and 2 employees' children participate in the Leucan Shaved Head Challenge. I immediately said yes.

The Lady Bug is the symbol for Leucan. I couldn't think of a better way to put to use my Darling Dots Hostess stamp set.

Before you look at the card, take a minute to send your positive energy and thoughts to these dear children who so bravely and courageously fight for their lives on a daily basis. I am one of the lucky parents who have two very healthy and strong boys, for which I am very thankful. I hope my card with help brighten this little girl's day and let her know how much we care.

Happy Birthday / Bonne Fête

Two colleagues of mine celebrated their birthdays this week. I could not resist making two special cards for them. I decided to make them at the very last minute and everything fell into place quite nicely. I love them and so did they.

I sure have been busy...

I never thought March and April would be so busy. Even though I only made two cards for St. Patrick's Day, I had eight cards to make for our Easter and birthday celebrations.

My son Matthew and my aunt Grace celebrated their birthdays this past Saturday. Happy Birthday once again to the both of them. Matthew (my baby) turned 17 (WHOA!) and Grace, well, I think she would prefer I did not mention her age

The family gathered once again at Nanny's. This was a special day as we had not seen my aunt Grace and uncle Karol in a few years. Nanny is 96 years young and will definitely outlast the Energizer Bunny! Thanks to aunt Dorothy for an excellent roast beef and yorkshire pudding dinner. Mmmm Mmmm!!

Happy Easter, Birthday and Spring to everyone! Keep scrolling - here are the pictures of my cards.

For Matthew - This one I CASED from the Stampin' Up! catalogue. My creative juices had run dry after seven cards.

For Grace - This card was made using the new Manhattan Flower Textured Impressions Die for the Sizzix Big Shot.

All the cards were made using Stampin' Up! products (except for the button on Matthew's birthday card and the flower on the last bunny card). Please contact me if you would like a detailed list of products.

Catch-Up Part 2

Just 4 days before Christmas, my darling husband celebrated his 50th birthday.

Some good friends of ours gathered at our home for a surprise party.

I was sure he suspected we had planned a party for him. But everything went off with a bang!

Bonne Fete mon amour!!!

Catch-Up Part 3

After all the birthday celebrations, Christmas is soon upon us. Here are the cards I made for my family. We all had a wonderful Holiday season and hope you did as well. All the best to all of you for 2009!

The brown felt ribbon is from the Stampin' Up Holiday collection. It is just gorgeous.

This card is a money holder with a pocket inside.

The Let it Snow stamp is from Stampin' Up.

These little cards were attached to gifts for the family. Stamps, cardstock and ribbon are from Stampin' Up.

Catch-Up

It has been a while since I last posted. I thought I would play catch-up and post some cards I made since my Grandmother's birthday. Since my last posting, my oldest son Patrick turned 20 on November 26th. WOW! I can remember cradling him in my arms - it seems like yesterday. He graduated from CEGEP (college) in December '08 and will be applying for a Professional Cooking program starting in September. I couldn't wait to receive my Stampin Up Voila stamp set to make this special card for him. Happy Birthday Pat!
